This residence in Boston’s Back Bay is home to a young couple that likes to entertain large groups of friends and business associates but also wanted their space to easily transition into a haven for recharging and reconnecting with one another.

NHD created different zones in the living room with a sectional and fireplace for friendly banter. When not hosting, the wife likes to curl up on the long window seat with her dogs and a favorite book and take in the early morning light and bustle along Commonwealth Avenue.

The elevator doors open directly into this unit. Visitors immediately discover a floor to ceiling wine feature in the dining room displaying the couple’s ever-growing collection, and custom-designed to honor their interest in a contemporary way in line with the architecture. Elsewhere, the couples’ other passions including flying, horses, and fine watches are subtly honored.

The bedroom offers clever storage behind Parisian-inspired wardrobe doors, keeping the clutter of modern life and reminders of the business day far from where the eye travels.
