TAILORED
HUES

From the ink blot walls to the Romo fabric, the Steinway and faux fur throw, the living room brings glamour and drama to this renovated Victorian single-family home. Situated near the front door, this room makes an unforgettable impact on those who first walk in and unexpectedly enter this impeccably tailored, music-filled world which invites them to linger between notes.

In the adjoining dining room, the starting point was the client’s historic World War II era photograph depicting parachutes descending over farmlands. The art is unexpectedly paired with decorative paint with a motif of parachute-like geometry, and deep purple chairs that call for a multi-course celebration. Additional conceptual artwork, a mid-century Tulip table, and a classic Niermann Weeks chandelier achieve a fun-spirited tension between buttoned up and spontaneous.

A more subtle primary bedroom may be less dramatic than the more public entertaining areas in this home but is every bit as cultured. The muted orchestra of taupe, grey, and cream plays a restful lullaby.

In the children’s bedroom a hand-painted mural outlining the inner workings of an airplane brings unexpected joy to its young residents as they drift off to sleep. Timeless navy-blue roman shades and linen upholstered headboards create a foundation that will last longer than a top hit and will last for the many years and stages to come.
